FirstEnergy Corp. has announced the appointment of James H. Myers III as President of its West Virginia and Maryland operations, effective December 15. Myers will be responsible for overseeing operational excellence, financial performance, and state regulatory strategy for the company's business in these regions, which includes Mon Power and Potomac Edison electric companies.
This move is part of FirstEnergy's new business structure aimed at bringing decision-making closer to customers. Wade Smith, President of FirstEnergy Utilities, stated that "Jim's knowledge, vision and continuous improvement mindset are key to driving strong safety and reliability performance."
In addition to Myers' appointment, Sally Thomas has been named Vice President of Distribution Engineering and Planning starting January 12. Joe Storsin will take on the role of Vice President of Transmission Finance beginning December 15.
Thomas will report to Toby Thomas, Chief Operating Officer, while Storsin will report to Mark Mroczynski, President of Transmission.
Myers joined Allegheny Energy in 1985 and has held various engineering and leadership roles throughout his career. He holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Pittsburgh.
Sally Thomas joined FirstEnergy in 2003 and has progressed through several roles within the company. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Grove City College.
Joe Storsin began his career with FirstEnergy as an intern in General Accounting and Financial Reporting in 2006. He holds degrees from Kent State University and is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in Ohio.
