The winners of the 2024 OEC’s Children of Members Scholarship contest have been announced, with high school seniors from member households across Ohio emerging victorious. In a statement, the organization expressed its joy and pride in the talented individuals who clinched the scholarships.

According to a report, a panel of independent judges carefully reviewed applications and essays submitted by the students to select the recipients. The deciding factor for the winners was their understanding and articulation of the Seven Cooperative Principles, along with their personal connection to these principles.

Among the standout winners are Sam Howard from South Central Power, who secured a scholarship of $4,300, Kathryn Bell from Buckeye Rural with $3,300, and Ava Loch from Hancock-Wood who received $2,800. Other deserving recipients include Tara Rice, Michael Gale, Ella Saal, Zoe Billenstein, Hannah McKinniss, Chelsea Erford, and Darcie Reinhart.

Additionally, several students were awarded $1,700 honorable mention scholarships, with their names listed alphabetically by last name. These students include Riley Barhorst, Kirsten Campbell, Hannah Chaffee, Kaden Dowler, Joseph Guisinger, Mia Holmes, Sasha Kroeger, Brendan Kronberg, Kamryn McGinnis, Isabella Mullins, Ty Post, Andrew Rankin, Caleb Stanberry, and Joslin Wilber.

The OEC expressed its gratitude to all the winners and their parents, commending them for their dedication and passion throughout the selection process. The organization also acknowledged the enthusiasm displayed by all the students who participated in the contest.
