In a recent trip to Sierra Leone, Blake West and Dwight Miller embarked on a mission that left a lasting impact on the local community. The duo recorded a web recording together and assisted in reviewing and completing essential manuals for Energicity, the local mini-grid provider.
"It was a life-changing trip for Blake and Dwight as they trained the locals on so many different things and were hands-on with cable splicing and climbing steel poles," shared a source close to the project. The hands-on approach taken by West and Miller allowed them to demonstrate troubleshooting and repair techniques for a 11kV delta mini grid that was down upon their arrival.
Additionally, the team worked on finalizing crucial documents that will benefit Energicity in their operations. "We also helped review and complete the operations manual and safety manual and lineman training manual which will soon be sent to Energicity," stated a source familiar with the project.
The efforts of Blake West and Dwight Miller in Sierra Leone have not only contributed to the local community's knowledge and skills but have also paved the way for improved operations and safety standards for the mini-grid provider. The impact of their trip is expected to have a lasting effect on the region's energy infrastructure.
