During the last week of April, 2,000 representatives from electric cooperatives nationwide attended the 2025 NRECA Legislative Conference. Among them were about seventy participants from Ohio cooperatives. On Monday, attendees listened to NRECA staff and legislators discussing key issues at this year's conference. The importance of conveying the cooperative message during Capitol Hill meetings with legislators or their staff was emphasized.
Ohio's delegation included representatives from twenty-two co-ops across the state. On Tuesday, these attendees engaged with fourteen federal legislative offices, including Senator Moreno, Senator Husted, Congressman Dave Taylor, Congresswoman Joyce Beatty, Congressman Jim Jordan, Congressman Bob Latta, Congressman Michael Rulli, Congressman Max Miller, Congressman Warren Davidson, Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur, Congressman Mike Turner, Congressman Troy Balderson, Congressman Dave Joyce, and Congressman Mike Carey. Discussions covered important federal topics such as permitting reform, EPA regulations, RUS electric loans and FEMA public assistance.
