Throughout April, Duke Energy emphasized the importance of sustainability by distributing $375,000 in grants to organizations across South Carolina. This funding was allocated to 24 nonprofit and governmental entities to support initiatives such as park management, tree planting, trail maintenance, and litter prevention.

Tim Pearson, Duke Energy's South Carolina president, commented on the significance of these efforts, stating, "The natural beauty of South Carolina draws new residents and businesses to our state every year, and it’s important for companies like ours to work alongside our communities to protect, enhance and promote these tremendous assets of the Palmetto State."

Among the beneficiaries are organizations like South Carolina State Parks, Waymaker Off Road Wheelchairs, Foothills Trail Conservancy, and Trees Upstate. Duane Parrish, South Carolina Parks, Recreation and Tourism executive director, expressed gratitude towards Duke Energy, saying, "We are incredibly grateful to Duke Energy, who has been an amazing partner to South Carolina State Parks for many years."

Aaron Davis, TreesUpstate executive director, added, "For the past nine years, Duke Energy has helped thousands of Upstate residents save electricity costs through this really 'cool' Energy Savings Tree Giveaway program. Their generosity and partnership show how much Duke Energy values nonprofits, communities, and our wonderful natural resources."

In addition to financial support, Duke Energy employees participated in volunteer activities, including trash pickups across the state.

The Duke Energy Foundation provides over $30 million annually in philanthropic support, funded by Duke Energy shareholders. Duke Energy, headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, is one of the largest energy holding companies in the US, serving millions of customers across several states.

This initiative highlights Duke Energy's commitment to community engagement, balancing energy needs with sustainability and environmental responsibility.
