Columbia Gas of Ohio is highlighting the availability of financial assistance programs for customers struggling with energy bills, in light of National Energy Assistance Day on January 31. The company acknowledges the challenges posed by a cold winter and aims to support customers in managing their natural gas expenses.

Robert Heidorn, President and COO of Columbia Gas of Ohio, stated, “Ohio is experiencing a cold winter, and that unfortunately means more customers may face difficulties heating their homes and paying their natural gas bill. We are here to support you. Columbia can connect you to funds and payment assistance programs to help with your bill so you can keep your family safe and warm.”

The company has expanded its range of flexible payment plans, allowing customers to distribute their balance over several months through six-, nine-, or 12-month Basic Extended Payment Plans or the Percentage of Income Payment Plan Plus. Enrollment is available via phone at 1-800-344-4077 or online at www.columbiagasohio.com/paymentplans.

Additionally, the HeatShare program, administered by The Salvation Army, offers bill assistance for income-eligible customers. The program's eligibility criteria have been broadened this year. More information about local Salvation Army locations can be found at easternusa.salvationarmy.org/southwest-ohio/central-ohio.
