Columbus – The Salvation Army, in collaboration with Columbia Gas of Ohio, has announced the expansion of the HeatShare Program. This initiative aims to provide essential support to Ohio residents struggling to maintain warmth in their homes during winter. This partnership has been ongoing for over twenty years, offering hope and assistance to individuals and families across the state.

Major Tricia Brennan, Area Coordinator for The Salvation Army in Central Ohio, stated, “For over two decades, Columbia Gas of Ohio has been a trusted partner in bringing warmth, hope, and relief to families in need. Together, we are making a real difference, ensuring that no Ohioan is left in the cold.”

Eligible customers of Columbia Gas of Ohio can apply for HeatShare grants via The Salvation Army’s online portal at SAHelp.me or by reaching out to their local Salvation Army office. Caseworkers will be available to assist applicants with the necessary forms and documentation.

Since the late 1990s, Columbia Gas of Ohio and The Salvation Army have collaborated closely to meet essential human needs. The HeatShare program is a reflection of this shared commitment. In recognition of its contributions, Columbia Gas received The Salvation Army’s Need Knows No Season award in 2018.

Robert Heidorn, President and COO of Columbia Gas of Ohio, remarked on the program's expansion: “As the cold weather approaches, we know that many Ohioans struggle with how they will make ends meet. We are pleased to expand the HeatShare program in partnership with The Salvation Army, and we hope this initiative will provide timely assistance and enable our customers in need to manage their bills.”

The HeatShare program is part of Columbia Gas's broader efforts to impact communities positively. Beyond financial contributions to The Salvation Army, Columbia Gas engages its employees through various community activities such as participating in the Holiday Angel Tree Toy drive and supporting children's initiatives like the LemonAiD Campaign.
