FirstEnergy announces new vice presidents for key roles effective December

FirstEnergy Corp. has announced the appointment of Kelly Gower and Teresa Reed to vice president roles, with responsibilities in finance and regulatory sectors for Pennsylvania and New Jersey, respectively. Additionally, Jeremy W. Hay has been promoted to Vice President of Construction and Design Services. These appointments will be effective from December 30.

Gower and Reed will develop financial strategies, manage budgets, forecast financial planning, and maintain relationships with state commissions in their new roles. Gower will report to John Hawkins, President of FirstEnergy Pennsylvania, while Reed will report to Doug Mokoid, President of FirstEnergy New Jersey.

These positions are part of FirstEnergy's revised business structure aimed at enhancing customer service by decentralizing decision-making processes. The company aims to improve execution and customer investment locally through this approach.

Jeremy Hay's role as Vice President of Construction and Design Services involves overseeing transmission infrastructure construction and design to ensure energy delivery reliability. He has been serving as Acting Vice President since June 2023 and reports to Toby Thomas, Chief Operating Officer.

Kelly Gower joins from PPL Electric Utilities where she was Director of Financial Planning, Budgeting, and Administration since 2022. Her background includes strategic planning and operational strategy leadership roles at PPL Corporation.

Teresa Reed previously worked at Duke Energy Corporation as Director of Rates and Regulatory Planning since 2020. She brings experience in rate design, pricing strategy, compliance, supply chain management, and customer solutions.

Jeremy Hay has been with FirstEnergy since 2005 in various leadership roles related to generation specialist services before being named Acting Vice President in 2023.

FirstEnergy serves over six million customers across several states including Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, West Virginia, Maryland, and New York. The company's transmission subsidiaries operate approximately 24,000 miles of lines connecting the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic regions.
