COLUMBUS, OH – The Community Foundation of Ohio’s Electric Cooperatives has recently allocated funds to support various charitable causes within local communities and assist the family of a fallen lineworker.
In a statement, the foundation announced that nearly $8,000 in grants were approved for 8 charitable organizations. The foundation expressed its dedication to giving back to the communities served by Ohio’s 25 electric cooperatives.
Among the beneficiaries of the grants are organizations such as the Worthington Resource Pantry, Stiff Person Syndrome Research Foundation, and the United Way of Logan Co. Tornado Relief Fund, each receiving different amounts to further their missions.
Additionally, the board members of The Community Foundation of Ohio’s Electric Cooperatives, responsible for overseeing the Fallen Lineworker Fund, approved a $5,000 grant to support the family of Consolidated Electric Cooperative District Operations Supervisor Shawn Tuttle. Shawn Tuttle, who battled pancreatic cancer, unfortunately passed away in February 2024. The grant aims to assist Tuttle’s family with the financial burden left by his medical expenses.
The Fallen Lineworker Fund was specifically established to provide aid to families of lineworkers facing challenging circumstances similar to Shawn Tuttle’s.
Grant applications for support can be submitted through the foundation’s website, with the next deadline set for July 12, 2024.
