FirstEnergy appoints two new VPs for finance roles in key regions

FirstEnergy Corp. has announced the appointment of Arsalan Azarsa and Kevin Keller to vice president roles in finance and regulatory for specific regions. Azarsa will take on responsibilities for West Virginia and Maryland starting February 10, while Keller will oversee Ohio beginning February 24. Both positions involve developing financial strategies, budgeting, forecasting, and managing relationships with state commissions.

These appointments are part of FirstEnergy's new business structure aimed at improving decision-making and service delivery at a local level. Azarsa will report to Jim Myers, President of FirstEnergy West Virginia and Maryland, whereas Keller will report to Torrence Hinton, President of FirstEnergy Ohio.

With their strong financial acumen, regulatory knowledge, strategic planning and analysis expertise and utility industry experience, Arsalan and Kevin will be key leaders as we upgrade our electric systems to benefit residents and businesses in West Virginia, Maryland and Ohio."

Azarsa previously worked at Vicinity Energy as Regional Director of Finance and Accounting since 2022. His career includes over thirty years at Pepco Holdings where he held various leadership roles. He holds a Bachelor of Science in accounting from the University of Maryland and is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in the District of Columbia.

Keller comes from American Electric Power (AEP), where he served as Director of Financial Forecasting. His previous roles include Director of Tax Accounting and Forecasting at AEP. Before joining AEP in 2018, he was involved with Regulated Capital Consultants and PriceWaterhouseCoopers. Keller holds a Bachelor of Science in accounting and an MBA from the University of Dayton; he is also a Certified Public Accountant licensed in Ohio.
