Ohio electric cooperatives advocate for grid reliability and tax reform

0Comments

Leaders from 17 Ohio electric cooperatives recently dedicated a day to meet with influential state legislators and officials. The focus of the discussions was on grid reliability, kilowatt-hour tax reform, and opportunities for New ERA funding aimed at promoting reliability within the energy sector.

The day began with a legislative briefing from Anna Perry, Governor Mike DeWine’s energy policy expert. This was followed by two separate panels of House Members who sit on the House Public Utilities Committee. The panel included Chair Dick Stein, Reps. Seitz, Holmes, Peterson, Robb-Blasdel, and Hoops.

Lunch followed with 15 members of the Ohio Senate. Senate Energy and Public Utilities Chair Bill Reineke and Senator Shane Wilkin addressed the group.

The advocacy day concluded with a legislative networking reception in the Statehouse Rotunda. Both Republican and Democratic members of the House and Senate were present along with their staff.
