FirstEnergy Corp. has been recognized by Forbes on two national lists for 2026: America’s Most Trusted Companies and America’s Best Companies. The acknowledgment comes as the company continues to focus on operational improvements, customer service, and fostering a positive workplace environment.

“Recognition from Forbes highlights the importance of our ongoing efforts to strengthen our company for our employees, customers and communities we serve. We’re focused on building trust through meaningful investments in reliability and by supporting initiatives that make a difference in people’s daily lives. This acknowledgement of success motivates us to continue making improvements that benefit everyone who depends on FirstEnergy,” said Brian X. Tierney, President and CEO of FirstEnergy.

Forbes selects its Most Trusted Companies based on an independent survey of U.S. residents who rate companies they know for transparency, ethical practices, and reliability. Eligible businesses must be publicly traded with over 1,000 employees; from roughly 2,000 candidates, the top 300 are chosen according to ratings from employees, customers, investors, and media.

The America’s Best Companies list is determined through analysis involving more than 60 measures across categories such as employee satisfaction, customer experience, and financial strength. Out of thousands reviewed by Forbes’ research partners, the top 500 are selected for consistent value delivery and strong reputations.

In 2025, FirstEnergy plans $5.5 billion in grid modernization as part of its Energize365 initiative—a $28 billion investment program scheduled through 2029—aimed at improving system reliability and reducing outages across its service area.

Additionally, the FirstEnergy Foundation provided over $5.5 million this year to support local programs throughout its six-state territory. Employees have also contributed more than 40,000 volunteer hours over two years to assist community organizations with food distribution, shelter provision, and other essential services.

FirstEnergy serves more than six million customers across Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, West Virginia, Maryland and New York via one of the largest investor-owned electric systems in the United States.
