Brooke Trammell has been appointed Vice President of Transmission Strategy and Engagement at FirstEnergy Corp. She will be responsible for overseeing strategic planning, policy advocacy, and ventures aimed at expanding the company’s transmission portfolio. In her new role, Trammell will also manage engagement with PJM and lead FirstEnergy’s transmission strategic partnerships. She will report to Mark Mroczynski, President of Transmission at FirstEnergy.

“Brooke brings a strong history of shaping and guiding regulatory strategies, supporting project approvals and contributing to thoughtful policy development. Her expertise in navigating complex regulatory environments and identifying practical, forward-looking approaches will be a valuable addition to our team and support the continued advancement of FirstEnergy’s transmission portfolio,” said Mroczynski.

Trammell is set to begin her position on September 8.

Before joining FirstEnergy, Trammell spent more than ten years at Xcel Energy, where she most recently served as Regional Vice President of Regulatory & Pricing for the Southwestern Public Service Company. At Xcel Energy—which serves over 3.7 million customers across eight states—she was involved in developing regulatory strategies across jurisdictions, advancing policy reforms to improve financial performance, reducing investment risk, and securing approvals for large-scale infrastructure proposals. Her experience spans rates, policy work, state and federal regulatory affairs, customer relations, community engagement, and involvement with SPP (Southwest Power Pool), ERCOT (Electric Reliability Council of Texas), and western markets.

Earlier in her career, Trammell worked with PNM Resources Inc., now TXNM Energy, as a federal regulatory project manager and retail rates analyst.

She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Economics and a Master of Arts in Economics focused on Public Utility Regulation from New Mexico State University. Additionally, she earned an MBA from West Texas A&M University and completed executive education in negotiation strategies at the University of St. Thomas.

FirstEnergy operates one of the nation’s largest investor-owned electric systems through its distribution companies serving over six million customers across Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, West Virginia, Maryland, and New York. Its transmission subsidiaries manage approximately 24,000 miles of lines connecting the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic regions.
