Duke Energy, in collaboration with its foundation, is offering a significant grant opportunity for nonprofit organizations in southwest Ohio and northern Kentucky. A total of $150,000 is available for nonprofits addressing workforce development training needs in these regions.
The Duke Energy Foundation aims to support initiatives critical to the energy sector and other essential trades by funding workforce development training programs. According to Amy Spiller, president of Duke Energy Ohio/Kentucky, “Funding these workforce initiatives is just one way Duke Energy helps build talent pipelines to power our regional economy for years to come.” She added that the grant recipients are instrumental in strengthening communities by offering job training and other support services.
Nonprofits eligible for this grant can apply for one-time funding up to $15,000 to enhance their educational programming. The deadline for applications is Wednesday, April 30. Kim Vogelgesang, Duke Energy Foundation manager for Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana, stated, “Duke Energy Foundation has a long history of giving back to communities we serve. Being able to support our region’s workforce needs is our way to help maintain vibrant communities.”
