Dominion Energy, a leading provider of electricity and natural gas, is reminding its customers about the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) and other available resources to help with energy costs. Last week, Dominion Energy representatives attended LIHEAP Action Day on Capitol Hill to raise awareness about the program and mobilize support.
“We understand the cost of utility bills can impact vulnerable households and we want our customers to know we’re here to help,” said Sam Dozier, general manager of customer service at Dominion Energy. “Last year, thousands of Dominion Energy South Carolina customers received LIHEAP assistance. We encourage customers facing hardships to reach out to us so we can connect them with programs like LIHEAP and other resources.”
LIHEAP, funded through federal funding, provides assistance to eligible customers to help with their energy costs. To learn more about LIHEAP or to apply, customers should contact their local community action agency. Dominion Energy also offers other assistance programs, such as EnergyShare, which is funded with contributions from the company, customers, employees, and retirees. The program is administered through community action agencies.
In addition to these programs, Dominion Energy also offers payment plans for customers who are having trouble paying their bills. The company will work with customers to determine the best option for their unique situation, whether it be short-term payment extensions or long-term payment plans.
