America Is All In launches solar expansion campaign in Ohio

American Is All In has announced the launch of their new campaign to increase the installation of solar energy panels and system in Cleveland and Akron, as well as throughout northeast Ohio. 

The campaign will facilitate community education and engagement in increased solar energy solutions, and help encourage residents and local groups and businesses to take advantage of potential tax credits or rebates available to them if they choose to participate in installing and using solar energy. 

The cost of the subsidies for solar panels installed in homes and businesses in the Inflation Reduction Act and to American taxpayers is significant. According to Congress’ Joint Committee on Taxation, the cost in lost revenue to the federal government for fiscal years 2023-2027 is $11.5 billion.

Solar panels are not only being installed in Ohio homes and businesses, but also in industrial scale facilities across the state. According to the Solar Energy Industries Association, Ohio ranks 15th in the nation for installed solar on an industrial scale. Installations are growing rapidly in Ohio, with projections that Ohio will rank seventh in new installations over the next five years. 

The growth of solar is disturbing a number of residents. Preble County resident Jill Sorrell said on Facebook that it was a “sad day for Preble County” when the decision was announced to approve a solar facility. She wrote, “Our farm is right beside the solar farm and across the road. We are very concerned about our tile, run off on crops, where’s the wildlife going to go, value on our property, the maintenance on them once they are done. It’s been a five year process our attorney and group has done a great job but how do you beat the government. I will be heartbroken the rest of my life.”

America is All In seeks to “bring awareness to the financial incentives and cost-savings solar power can bring homeowners and businesses thanks to the opportunities available through the Inflation Reduction Act.”
